Fashion trends have an unfortunate reputation for negatively impacting health and wellbeing. While people look good as they’re in magazines, on the red carpet, or on the street, it’s easy to forget that they may be suffering to achieve that look.
As you invest in the following fashion trends, make sure you are staying safe and healthy; achieving your best look does not always have to cause damage to your body.
High heels are one of the biggest culprits of causing damage to your overall health for the sake of a fashion trend. High heels are everywhere in the workplace, on runways, and on the red carpet. Admittedly, they can make legs look longer and bring a “wow” factor to an outfit.
Although they look good, wearing heels more than three times a week causes a multitude of health problems. Heels can cause chronic pain in your lower back, muscle spasms along your calves, and nerve damage and bunions on your feet, especially along your toes as they’re forced into a narrow area. These shoes put intense pressure on the balls of your feet and your toes, areas that aren’t meant to carry all of your weight. They also make you tilt forward.
This puts pressure on your spine and increases the risk of sciatica. For the sake of your back, posture, and feet, save the heels for special occasions and wear flat shoes or dress shoes daily instead.
Big, lush, fake eyelashes are another fashion culprit that impacts many people around the world. While big eyelashes are a trend and both magazines and the red carpet make them a staple for big eyes and beautiful looks, they can lead to a multitude of eye problems. Many people have naturally small lashes, and although there is nothing wrong with that, fashion dictates that large lashes are more attractive. This has led many people to purchase and apply false lashes.
Obviously we can't always rock a fat pair of false lashes every day like Kim Kardasian or Kylie Jenner. But sometimes you want a little something extra and when you're in the spotlight so much, we totally get it. False lashes are perfect to add something a little more subtle or voluminous glam to your lashes without going over the top or looking overdone. It also allows you to customize what you want your lashes to look like and we love that.
Piercings and Tattoos
Getting a tattoo or piercing is very popular, especially among younger people. However, 25% of people who get tattoos tend to end up regretting them. Not only are tattoos lifelong, but they can cause certain health problems. Tattooing pushes ink into the dermis layer of the skin, and if the skin becomes infected, it can quickly spread into surrounding areas to become cellulitis. Allergies are also linked to tattoo ink, and if needles aren’t clean, they can transfer viruses such as hepatitis C and HIV. Be careful if you choose to get a tattoo or piercing, and make sure you select a reputable and hygienic artist. Ask them about their sterilization process and check their brands of ink.
It is currently a big trend to get lip fillers to achieve a full, wrinkle-free look around your lips. Dermal fillers are a popular nonsurgical way to rejuvenate the look of your face. However, be careful as you handle these fillers. They can cause severe allergic reactions, permanent scarring, disfigurement, and even blindness in some cases. Take the time to conduct research and make sure that you are purchasing legal products, or, go and have your fillers injected by a professional who uses FDA-approved products instead of attempting it yourself; most people who suffer damage from lip fillers attempted to use illegal products or applied it themselves.
Many clothes are treated with chemicals and dyes during and after processing. These chemicals can negatively impact your health. Most synthetic fabrics use a base that is made from coal, oil, or natural gas, and people with sensitive skin may suffer allergic reactions, headaches, nausea, rashes, or burning skin. To avoid this, conduct research and check out what is put into the clothing you tend to purchase. You can look into organic and natural fiber clothing as an alternative.
Many people are interested in looking fashionable, whether trends are applied to their clothing, apparel, or makeup. Unfortunately, many fashion trends can cause pain and damage. Take care as you look fashionable, and make sure you are comfortable and ensuring that the products you use and purchase are clean and legal.
Cosmetology and plastic surgery is a booming market around the world. In china it’s specially popular. China is the 3rd largest market in the world. Almost every second resident of China did blepharoplasty (to make the eyes more similar to European), rhinoplasty,
Know how to apply False Eyelashes
Before gluing the lashes on, you will need to make sure they are not too wide for your eye. Hold the lash strips up against your eyelid, and trim them down on the sides if necessary. Allow the glue to dry for a moment before applying it to your lashes.
Alternatively, you can squeeze a thin line of lash glue onto the back of your non-dominant hand. Then, gently run the outer seam of the eyelash strip along it. Bring the strip down from above, not from the front. This is to ensure that you get as close as possible to your lash line.
Once the strip is in place, you do not need to press or hold it. Apply mascara to your lashes which will help blend your natural lashes with the false ones, achieving a more natural look. You can use black, brown, or dark gray mascara. Be sure to fill in any gaps between the false lashes and your own to make them look more natural. Use black, brown, or dark gray liner.
