It was movie magic that launched a famous beauty trend. In 1916, legendary movie director, D.W. Griffith wanted Seena Owen, the leading lady of his epic, “Intolerance”, to have glamorous lashes so long they would gracefully touch her cheeks when she fluttered her eyelashes or looked down thoughtfully. A wig maker wove human hair through fine gauze and gummed them to Owen’s eyelids creating the very first set of false eyelashes. Needless to say, women wanted the same movie star lashes and a trend was born.

ARDELL has become the world’s leading brand in false eyelashes (faux eyelashes) because it has stayed true to its mission in wanting to give women a way to have beautiful, unforgettable eyes. The dedication to this goal began in 1971 when Arnold Miller founded ARDELL along with his wife, Sydell Miller. The name ARDELL comes from combining their first names.

With the introduction of ARDELL Duralashes, their first line of individual faux eyelashes, the Millers grew their business with great success. They put ARDELL strip lashes and individual lashes on the shelves of thousands of retail and professional stores and the brand never looked back.

I love Ardell lashes. Ardells lashes are reaonably priced and are flexible, light weight and they are sized well so you dont have to cut them to fit your eyes. All of the styles are very wearable and never look tacky or overdone. My favorite lash is Ardell Invisiband Babies lashes. This particular style is a great classic and looks natural, good for everyday wear.

I’ve used Ardell lashes for over 12 years! I will not leave home without them. Over the years, I’ve noticed that the lashes are a bit inconsistent. I always use Ardell Fashion Lashes 110 or Andrea Modlash 21 which are the same style. But sometimes the lashes are not as full or are too long. I used to buy my lashes from CVS and Rite-Aid when CVS was still Savon (that probably gives away my age a bit). Then, I bought them from Walmart and Target when they started to carry them. They would often be out and I had to hunt down my lashes. Then, I bought them on ebay which led me to this site called madamemadeline.com I’ve been buying my lashes from them for the past 6 years. I like that they pretty much never run out of the lashes I need and they will even help me pick out the styles I want, like ‘the more full version of 110’s’ which is something I don’t get to do at the stores. They carry thousands of lashes in each style, so I have my pick of my preference. It’s awesome!

Sally Beauty Supply usually has a lot of the Ardell lashes so you can buy a lot of them there, but it’s not going to be any cheaper just because you buy a lot. I saw the madamemadeline.com sit mentioned a lot in these postings and actually thought I’d check them out. It’s a “more you buy, more you save” kind of thing there. They have a “volume discounts” deal for bigger orders. So far, I think it’s the lowest price I’ve seen for Ardell lashes, both in stores and online. I ordered 8 pairs of lashes. My total was less than $25 including shipping. When I got my package, the MadameMadeline store gave me an extra pair of lashes. They said it was a ‘freebie’ pair of lashes and that they regularly include them with order over $20. Nice! The lashes look just like the ones I buy from Sally’s and Target.
